6 Reasons to Switch to Pay As You Go TV

Pay As You Go TV
Pay As You Go TV

In the past, there’s only cable, satellite, and free TV (antenna) were only the options for home entertainment. However, nowadays, you might feel overwhelmed in choosing the best option for your home. For example, there are now such things as on-demand streaming services, live TV streaming, and more recently, pay as you go TV. The concept “pay as you go” is not new, but it’s gaining popularity in the TV industry due to these emerging services.

If you’ve heard of pay as you go TV but are not completely sure if it’s right for you, we’ll be sharing six reasons why you should make the switch as soon as possible.

1. No Long Contracts

One of the biggest downsides of traditional TV services is its long-term contracts. You either have to choose between a 12-month or a 24-month contract. That’s too long for many households, especially if they’re really not that committed to a specific TV service. Pay as you go TV lets you choose when you want to subscribe and when you’d like to pause. And when you want it again, you can simply resume the service. It’s straightforward as needed, and excellent for most households.

2. Lower Monthy Costs

We all know that cable and satellite TV can be expensive, especially once the promo pricing is over, and this is where pay as you go TV shines. This TV option is significantly cheaper than other TV alternatives. Of course, you still have to manage your expectations when it comes to the content you’ll get. For example, when you opt for DISH TV packages instead of pay as you go TV, you’ll get more content and other freebies. Expect though that it comes with a higher price point. Your decision for this specific factor will be determined by the number of content you want to have.

3. Flexible Packages

This type of TV service is built around your viewing preferences. If you’re passionate about sports, interested in classic films, or simply want the basics, you can select only the channels or bundles that appeal to you. Plus, you can change things up each month based on what you’re interested in. If there’s a special event or new show that interests you, add it for that month and remove it when you’re done. Customizing your lineup means you’re never stuck paying for channels you’re not using.

4. Excellent for Occasional TV Watchers

For people who watch TV daily, a TV service like DIRECTV would be the best option. However, if you’re just an occasional watcher who opens the TV 4-5x a month or so, you’re probably better off with pay as you to TV. This TV service lets you turn on the service for just those times, so you’re not paying for a full month when you’re barely watching. It’s a great option for busy people, travelers, or anyone who only watches on occasion. Why pay for what you’re not using when you can only pay when you’re ready to watch?

5. No Credit Checks Needed

Most traditional TV plans usually require credit checks because you’re going to be in it for a long time. But with this service, it’s very easy and open to everyone regardless of your credit score. Just keep in mind though that this depends on the provider you choose, but most leading providers do not require credit checks. So even if you have a bad credit score or are simply not comfortable sharing that information, you can enjoy your favorite shows without any problem.

6. No Credit Cards Required

Pay as you go TV is also flexible with how you pay. It doesn’t require a credit card, which makes it even easier for everyone to join. Unlike many traditional plans that ask for a credit card for automatic billing, Pay-As-You-Go lets you use a debit card, online payment methods, or even a prepaid card to keep things simple. Honestly, it is one of its best features because not everyone is not comfortable using a credit card and some of us simply want more control over our spending. You can pay in a way that suits you best, without the need for credit or long-term commitments.

Wrapping Up

Pay as you go TV is now gaining popularity in the market due to its simplicity and affordability. In all honestly, this service is the most cost-effective option out there because you’re literally paying for what you need. No need for extra channels that you don’t even watch. If you’re planning to make the switch but need some push to do so, well, here we are and this is your green light. Just make sure to assess your specific needs, specifically your viewing habits and content preferences before actually switching so you don’t regret your decision afterward.
